Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is pushing for fast track court to be set up for expedite the trial for Katahua rape case and insure justice to the family of the minor girl. The fast track court is likely to deliver its verdict in the case in 90 days. The order regarding the same notification is expected to be issued today evening.
The chief minister also asked the termination of arrested officers in the case. And also will enact a law to make rape of minors punishable by death and asserted that justice will be delivered in the rape and murder case of Bakerwal girl in Kathua.
The nomadic community has created a controversy after lawyers in Jammu called for a shutdown on Wednesday, demanding the case be handed over to the CBI.
Earlier in the day , C.M said proper procedure were being followed in the case and investigation were on the fast track.
