Transporters Threaten To Go On Strike From 9th October: The Alert India

Truck operators will go on a two days strike across the country from 9th October to protest against GST, diesel price hike and corruption on road, S.K. Mittal President (All India Motor Transport Congress) told reporters here.

AIMTC, the apex body of transporters, claims to represent around 93 lakhs truckers and around 50 lakhs bus and tourist operators.

Another transporters body All India Transporters welfare Association (AITWA) said it will support  AIMTC’s call for strike as the government has failed to give any clarification on GST to transporters.

(The Chakka Jaam) Call is Given by AIMTC and we are supporting them Pradeep Singhal president AITWA, Said . “The government do not want us to understand the GST, they do not want to give any clarification and they are making it complicated” he alleged

Stating the exorbitant rise in diesel price and daily change in rates have hit the sector, AIMTC said that government should revise the price of diesel on quarterly basis.

When asked it is wise to go for token strike amid the festival season, Singhal said , no chakka jaam is a wise move.

” It is a suicidal move. we are making a loss of our self when we stop our vehicles on the road. After Deepawali we are going for an indefinite strike. Hr said.
