As per the guidelines and direction of Reserve Bank of India no bank can open or work on holiday unless any emergency regarding financial problem.
In Gurugram a bank named “Sarv Haryana Gramin Bank” situated in sector 44 of the city opened currency chest on Sunday and it’s strange that the other branch of the “Sarv Haryana Gramin Bank” remain closed in the city.
It’s also noticed by the general public of the city that on Sunday some officials of the “Sarv Haryana Gramin Bank” opened the bank at 8:30 A.M and the same remain open till 3:30 P.M. This practice is continues for last couple of months.
Neither bank staff nor chest in charge ready to talk about the issue, and also no clarification from the Reserve Bank Of India.
That the currency chests of Banks are under the control of RBI and RBI monitor the same and without permission of RBI no bank can open their currency chest on holiday or Sunday.
when a news agency try to investigate the issue , the G.M of “Sarv Haryana Gramin Bank” Sailesh Ranjan denied all allegations and said that the matter is not in his knowledge. He also said that he never gave any order to open the currency chest on 12 November 2017 (Sunday).
