Alert India: Fresh cease fire violation by Pakistan in Rajouri District.
Paakistani troops today targeted forward post and villages in Rajouri District of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said. Indian army gaurding the LOC retaliated and the exchange of fire between the two sides was going on when the report came. There was no immediate report of any casualty.
Several thousands border resident of Nowshera along with other sector of the twin district of Rajouri and Poonch have witnessed sharp increase in ceasefire violation by the Pakistan army in the year. On August 27 five person were injured when Pakistani troops openeed firjng in Shapura sector of Poonch District.
Till August 1, there have been 285 such violations by the Pakistan Army while in 2016, the number was significantly less at 228 for the entire year, according to the Army figures.
